Verano y la pared de palabras...

So I am finally done with school (teaching)for the year and a couple of PD type things and have a little time before my Summer class begins. I absolutely adored my little friends this year and miss them already!  I expect great things from all of them and wish them well as they start a new page in first grade.  I am excited to spend some quality time with my own three loves and though it seems like this Summer break is filled with PD opportunities galore, I'm hoping to balance some family travel and fun in here somewhere, too!

Happily, or frighteningly, I am only two classes away from being ABD.  The D will be the most challenging as I am going "mixed methods."  Because when writing one dissertation is just not enough, let's just write two and combine them.  Easy peasy, right?  I guess I'll find out! ;-)

But enough about that.  I keep meaning to post pictures of my Spanish word wall and I finally put some new ones and a brief explanation under the El salón page.  Tab on over there to see them.
¡Feliz verano!

  1. Hi Susan,

I love your word wall idea. By any chance do you have a TPT account where I can buy your word wall set in spanish?

    Thank you,

  5. Hi Inez,

Thanks so much! I do not have and account yet. I am in the process of changing the drawings to be my own as I used random clipart that may be copyrighted when I made the set to use only for myself. I am hoping to have the new set ready to go by the end of June (just about done with my school year so I can get more done). I can keep you posted on it, if you'd like.

    Happy Spring,
    Susan

  7. Good afternoon Susan. Hope your enjoying your summer. I still have two weeks left of summer school but it's been fun. Just wanted to check-in on your "la pared de palabras" work. Enjoy your family although you and I both know we continue to work everyday. Inez

  8. Hi Inez,
Thanks for checking in! Hope you are enjoying Summer school and it goes by quickly so you can still get in some good family time before we start a new year with a new bunch of little friends!
I'm working on the word wall tags now. Do you like the larger or the smaller tags? The larger tags are four to a page and have a blue frame around them. The smaller tags are six to a page and have blue animal print for the background. I'm working on the first version but can also make the smaller ones if you'd like. Happy Summer!

    2. Good afternoon Susan. Hope your enjoying your summer. I wanted to checkin with you in regards to the word wall. How much space do I need for it? I start trying, and I do mean trying, to arrange my room tomorrow. I am trying to figure out placement. Thanks for your dedication and time, Inez

    3. Hi Inez, Hope you got to enjoy some Summer family time, too. I can't believe you are setting up your room already! When do you start your school year? The small tags are 6 per page so about 5.5" wide by a little under 3" tall. I am working on 3-6 words per letter but am not done yet so I can't give you an exact size per letter but maybe 11" x 9" per section if you are using painters tape like I did. Hope this helps! I'm hoping to have them done soon! Thanks for checking in!
